LIGHT JOURNALS
A LIGHT journal is a step-by-step study through a book of the Bible for women and teen girls. Each LIGHT journal is similar in style to the others but with a different format to fit the book it's studying through! This journal specifically goes through the book of the gospel of Luke. It is a book that takes us through the life of Jesus-- we get to see the relationship that we can have with God through Christ, how Jesus became our Savior, and so many other incredible things and teachings from Jesus that have make a very real difference in our lives today. Our goal is to Live In God's Hope & Truth (LIGHT)! Check out our other LIGHT journals in our shop!
A "SPREAD"
Each couple of pages in the journal (the left and right pages when opened) is what we call a "spread" that goes over a set of verses from the book of the Bible we are studying. This helps break it down so we can take it a little at a time, to truly read what God has to say to us in a way that changes how we live. He is our life (Colossians 3:4)! We pray this will be enriching to you, to your relationship with others (if in a group setting), but most importantly to your relationship with God!
INSIDE THE JOURNAL PAGES
- Questions > These are questions taken directly from the verses to help us actually think through what we read! (*Most questions created using ESV*)
- Connection > This additional verse or verses help us connect what we just read in Luke to another part of the Bible. Although there are several different books of the Bible, God has authored it all! And there are so many connections throughout his Word.
- What I Noticed > This is a space to note additional parts of these verses that stood out to you - it could be a detail you've never thought of before or a larger overview meaning!
- Thoughts > These can also be used for the more notes as the above section, or can be used for discussion notes in a group (or from the accompanying membership (see below!).
- Prayer > Prayer is just talking to God - and who better to talk to about what you just read than the One who wrote it!
- Summary pages > At the end of every chapter, there is a summary to help us see the overview of what we just read!
MATERIALS
- The size of the LIGHT journals are 7.5 in x 9 in.
- The journals are spiral bound with white plastic coil.
- Sheets are 70 lb thickness so ink will not easily bleed through.
- The total pages of the Luke journal is 252 pages.
PROCESSING + SHIPPING
- The processing of any order (prior to shipping) can take up to 5 business days.
- All journals are mailed using USPS Media Mail which can take 2-10 days.
- Total time = 1-2 weeks before delivery.
DISCUSSION NOTES
The discussion notes comprise of a thought and a discussion question which accompany each “spread” in the journal. This is meant to encourage us to think through what we are reading and make it real in our lives.
PACING CALENDAR
The Luke pacing calendar takes the book of Luke as broken down in the LIGHT journal and schedules out what to read when in an 18-week period.
