LIGHT JOURNALS

A LIGHT journal is a step-by-step study through a book of the Bible for women and teen girls. Each LIGHT journal is similar in style to the others but with a different format to fit the book it's studying through! This journal specifically goes through the book of 1 Peter. 1 Peter is about the life we live in this world as a Christ-follower. It will have ups and downs especially living like Christ (set apart from the world), but it is worth everything and more! Our goal is to Live In God's Hope & Truth (LIGHT)! A "SPREAD"

Each couple of pages in the journal (the left and right pages when opened) is what we call a "spread" that goes over a set of verses from the book of the Bible we are studying. This helps break it down so we can take it a little at a time, to truly read what God has to say to us in a way that changes how we live. He is our life (Colossians 3:4)! We pray this will be enriching to you, to your relationship with others, but most importantly to your relationship with God!

INSIDE THE JOURNAL PAGES

- Left page > This section is a fill-in-the-blank for the selected verses of study. ***Since it is word-for-word, it is easier to complete with the ESV!!***
- Thinking about it > These are questions taken directly from the verses, to help us actually think through what we read!
- Notes > This is a space to note additional parts of these verses that stood out to you - it could be a detail you've never thought of before or a larger overview meaning! It can also be used for the more notes as the above section, or can be used for discussion notes in a group (or from the accompanying membership (see below!).
- Connecting > This additional verse or verses help us connect what we just read in Ephesians to another part of the Bible. Although there are several different books of the Bible, God has authored it all! And there are so many connections throughout his Word.
- Recap and prompts pages > Every so often, there is a summary of the section that was just covered to help thinking through the different verses together! The rest of the space on the spread is used for journaling prompts to help us apply them to our lives.
- Rich word highlight pages > At the end of the chapter, there are selected words that we would have read more than once in the previous verses (from that chapter and eventually from the preceding chapters as well!). This helps us think through the what this word means, how we would explain it (sometimes deeper meaning in Biblical context), where this word is found in the chapter/1 Peter (***This was also created using ESV!!***), a section for application, and a notes section.

MATERIALS

- The size of the LIGHT journals are 7.5 in x 9 in.
- The journals are spiral bound with white plastic coil.
- Both front and back cover have soft cover lamination.
- Sheets are 70 lb thickness so ink will not easily bleed through.
- The total pages of the 1 Peter journal is 191 pages.

PROCESSING + SHIPPING

- The processing of any order (prior to shipping) can take up to 5 business days.
- All journals are mailed using USPS Media Mail which can take 2-10 days.
- Total time = 1-2 weeks before delivery

DISCUSSION NOTES

The discussion notes comprise of a thought and a discussion question which accompany each “spread” in the journal. This is meant to encourage us to think through what we are reading and make it real in our lives.

PACING CALENDAR

The 1 Peter pacing calendar takes the book of 1 Peter as broken down in the LIGHT journal and schedules out what to read when in an 18-week period. For 1 Peter, this includes the verse sets and the rich highlighted words.
