June journal “unboxing”

This is the “unboxing” of the May mailer with the June journal!

Sometimes when life is ordinary, it can be the most dangerous.

There are times when life is great and we praise God for it. There are times when life is hard and we seek God in it. But what about the many days in between? Are we still seeking and praising him?

This excerpt in Philippians is powerful because it’s about how to live life — in any season. Whatever we wake up to each morning, God has given us a way to look at the day with the most beautiful mindset. Because not only has he told us the details of how to live a full life, he has shared with us the ultimate secret to thriving in him, no matter what.

So let’s see what he has to say!

The journal

There are some parts of the Bible that are so rich that we could spend time lingering over the beauty of what God is saying in a very small section. And that’s what we’re doing here in Philippians 4:4-13! Each day is a different look at a part of a verse, each with deep meaning for our lives.

So we take it one thought at a time — for example, “but in everything”… What does everything look like? What does it mean to talk to God all the time, whether asking him for only what he can give us or thanking him for giving all these things he’s already given us. God didn’t write this and forget what our “everything” would look like. He knew what each of our lives would hold and still asks us to come to him through it all.

And so the journal continues like that for each page, thinking through the main thought or word of the section and soaking in the Truth.

Studying this excerpt of Philippians 4 takes us through the main 20 days of study. As in every everseeking journal, the “main study” can be done in 20 days, because we all have those moments where we get behind and want to give up — but that’s not what we’re about!

So we have 10 extra days in the month that are just optional pages: if you stay consistent in the 30 days, the optional pages are there with a deeper study! If you can only do the main 20, you still have completed the study for the month.

In this journal, we didn’t get the chance to study verse 8 (“whatever is true, whatever is honorable…”) as deeply as we could, so we do that in the optional pages!

Because we want to know what is true, whatever honorable and all of the rest, not just as book knowledge, but as part of the beautiful Christian life that God has woven together for us as part of his people.

The washi tape

As always, every everseeking journal comes with it’s set of washi tape: solid and patterned!

This month’s washi tape is a china-like pattern of blue and white and a similar solid color washi tape! We use these for highlighting certain thoughts, creating tabs throughout the journal, decorating, adding extra notes (scrapbooking style), color coding, and more! For more details, check out our “How to use washi tape for Bible journaling” blog at https://www.evergreencypress.com/blog/how-to-use-washi-tape-for-bible-journaling.

The porcelain floral keychain

The next “extra” is the porcelain floral keychain!

Whether you’re spending the summer traveling or spending time at home, enjoy using this keychain! We picked a fresh summer pattern to take with you wherever you go and to be a reminder that life with God is ultimately refreshing.

And that’s a wrap!

And that’s a wrap for the June journal that came in the May mailer! We loved putting this one together for our subscribers. If you are one, we would love to hear your feedback on this journal and mailer, on our social media posts or through email. And if you aren’t a subscriber, we saved a spot for you!

Every month is new and exclusive as a whole, so don’t miss out on the next available one! Join us in being everseeking of God with consistent Bible study at evergreencypress.com/everseeking!
